About Our Counselors
Biography - Ronnie Brasfield
Founder of Greater life Counseling Center, Ronnie is a nationally certified counselor and a licensed professional counselor in the state of Georgia. He attended the University of Georgia and received his bachelor’s degree in 1974. After working for 30 years, both corporately and privately in construction and agriculture, Ronnie left his livelihood to pursue a master’s degree in counseling from Richmont Graduate University in Atlanta, where he finished his studies in 2006. Since graduation, he has gained work experience in individual, family, and group therapy at Alpha Care of Lawrenceville and Manna Counseling Center in Duluth, before starting his own practice in October of 2009.
Today, Ronnie’s life calling is to work with people from a family perspective, concerning their life issues. He works with individuals, couples, and families seeking to bring restorations, harmony, and change through integrated biblical and psychological principles.
Biography - Shelly Cordsen
Shelly Cordsen, MA, LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia and hold a Master's degree from Western Seminary in Seattle, Washington (now Mars Hill Graduate School). She has worked in the counseling field since 2002, providing counseling services in both a private practice setting and in community mental health. Shelly is a Christ centered counselor that firmly believes in our need for God. She enjoys leading therapy groups on topics of spirituality, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and eating disorders. Shelly also has experience speaking at youth retreats and to women’s groups. Prior to working as a counselor, she worked in youth ministry for 10 years in both church and para-church ministry.
Shelly is married and has three wonderful children. She is the founder of SproutCounseling.
Biography - Peyton Knight
Peyton Knight M.A., LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia. I attended the University of Georgia and received my undergraduate degree in Child and Family Development. I attended graduate school at Richmont Graduate University. I have been working in the counseling field for about 10 years now. I enjoy working with people from all walks of life. My heart is to help people grow into the fullness of who God has created them to be by integrating the fundamentals of psychology and spiritual truths. I am trained by postpartum support international and enjoy working with and supporting women in the perinatal/postpartum season.
I am also a Certified Mental Health and Nutrition Clinical Specialist (CMNCS) This certification allows me to have another tool to help clients that are experiencing mental health challenges. Nutrition can really have a positive impact on over all well being.
I am married and with 3 children. I enjoy nature, sunshine, watching my kids play sports, yoga and exercise.
